Portrait — A Marriage Biodata With the Photo Leading

In most biodata formats the photograph is a passport-sized box in a corner, which is odd, because it is the first thing anybody looks at. Portrait accepts that and builds the page around a single full-width photograph, with the details in rounded cards below.

This only works if you have one good photograph. With a cropped group photo or a blurry selfie, it works against you more than any other design here.

“I design software for a living and make pottery badly on weekends. I read more than I watch, I am the person friends call when a spreadsheet stops making sense, and I would rather host six people for dinner than go to a party of sixty.”

A sample biodata shown in Portrait, in the Rose colour palette and without a photo. Anjali Desai is not a real person.

Best for

  • Anyone with one strong, recent, well-lit photograph
  • Profiles shared as a link rather than printed, where the image loads at full width
  • People who would rather lead with a face than a list of fields
  • Profiles opened on a phone, where the photo fills the screen before anyone scrolls

What makes a photo work here

One person, looking at the camera, in daylight, from roughly the chest up. Avoid group photos even if you are clearly identifiable, avoid heavy filters, and avoid anything cropped from a wedding album. Because this design shows the image large, flaws that hide in a small box become obvious.

What to write when you use it

The cards suit short, self-contained entries rather than long paragraphs, and on a wider screen they set the details in two columns. Keep the About Me to three or four sentences. Detail that would run long, like your career history or family background, reads better broken into its proper fields than crammed into free text.

Where it is the wrong choice

If you would rather not lead with a photograph, or you are not yet happy with the one you have, almost anything else here suits you better. Modern Minimal keeps the photo to a small circle above your name and lets the details lead.

Try it with your own details

Create your biodata once and switch between designs without retyping anything, and your profile link stays the same. Portrait is on the paid plans; see pricing, or start on the free plan and upgrade later.
